Hello!
I’m a passionate young adult reader and book nerd who is always ready to share what I am reading. I love murder mysteries and thrillers, but will always branch out into other genres, including romance, horror and fantasy.
In my free time, I enjoy doodling random things (such as the logo on the left) listening to music (mostly alternative from the 90s and some newer rock stuff) eating Japanese food, clicking around FlightRadar24, and trying every type of hot/iced/bubble tea I can get my hands on.
About the Blog:
On The Bookcat’s Library, I primarily discuss Young Adult literature (novels marketed towards and made for teens aged 14-18, featuring characters typically aged 15-18 in high school and college and focusing on adolescent themes with romance being common, while including a wide variety of individual genres.) However, I sometimes do the occasional Adult targeted novel (mostly cozy fantasy or novellas.) Although I do read some BookTok recommendations or popular reads, I do a lot of lesser-known authors, backlog titles from a few years ago, or simply plots that I find interesting. I review these books based on a variety of factors, such as pacing, characters, and plot twists, and try to keep things lighthearted with a tiny bit of snark.
I also on occasion write non-review content, which are articles where I discuss recent trends in literature and publishing and offer my opinion on them, or give my opinions on cover art or tropes. These are less frequent then my reviews, but I try to make them every once in a while.
My posting schedule can be inconsistent, so don’t be surprised if I go on a multi month hiatus due to laziness and then drop a bunch of posts at once. But while you wait for new content, check out the review directory, where I have every review I wrote, with the tropes and genre written with them so you can easily find something that interests you!
Hope you enjoy your time here!
